Crouching between the trees, pencil in hand, you wait for the arrival of the Yokai so you can fill your notebook with sketches. In Yokai Sketch you’ll duel to complete the most drawings of the evasive forest spirits. You can also harness the powers of the Yokai to slow down your opponent. Prepare your notebooks, shapen your pencils, and capture the essence of the forest spirits!
Humans who go into the forest may come across some Yokai. Moved by boundless curiosity, the little ones draw these spirits in their notebooks to understand their nature and learn from them.
With a set collection core mechanic, the goal of Yokai Sketch is to get more Yokai points than the other player by completing sketches of the elusive forest spirits. The game consists of two decks of cards: in one we find 4 types of Yokai, each one associated with an element (water, fire, earth and wind) and a numerical value that corresponds to victory points. In the other, the sketches made by humans and in which, in addition to two of the four elements, there may also be some special ability.
With a very simple preparation and with very few rules, you will immediately start playing. At the start of the game, the Yokai cards are stacked in the center of the table into 4 decks (one for each type of card) and three sketch cards are dealt face down to the players. On their turn, players draw a new sketch card and slide one of their four cards under one of the four decks in the center of the table, so that it reveals the element associated with that Yokai. If by doing this the Yokai reaches or exceeds the number of sketches needed to draw it (adding the sketches on both sides of the card), the player who has accumulated the most sketches on his side of the table takes it.
The winner's sketch cards will be placed in the discard pile, and the other player's will stay where they are, as they will be used for the next Yokai card of that type from the next turn. If there is a tie in the number of sketches on both sides of the card, the Yokai is frightened and lost. In this case, neither of them manages to finish the drawing and all the sketch cards on both sides of that Yokai pile are discarded. Sketch cards can also include powers: call the Yokai or distract the Yokai that will allow you to move some cards. The game ends when one or more Yokai decks are empty.

Cosmetic Conditions and Grading Definitions Guide:
Mint:
A Mint Condition game will come in the original packaging (Box and Manual [if applicable]) with no marks, scratches to the product.
Not Mint:
A Not Mint Condition game will come in the original packaging (Box and Manual [if applicable]) with cosmetic wear to the product but tested to make sure it is playable and guaranteed to work
Creases and Dents:
Any lines or ridges on the Manufacture’s box or manual which were caused by any folding, pressing, or crushing.
Wear and Tear:
Any damages that are naturally cause as a result of everyday and normal use. New items, usually means that there are tears on the original cellophane
Stickers:
Any stickers that were placed on the product. To avoid further damage to the product, we do not attempt to remove all stickers.
Fading/Writing:
Any fading or writing on the box, manual or disc that does not hinder or affect game play
Trading Card Game Conditions:
Near Mint:
Cards in Near Mint (NM) condition show minimal to no wear from shuffling, play or handling and can have a nearly unmarked surface, crisp corners and unblemished edges outside of a few minimal flaws. A Near Mint card may have a tiny edge nick or a tiny scratch or two, but overall look nearly unplayed with no major defects or flaws.
The acceptable range of cards within the Near Mint condition include both cards with no imperfections and cards with a few minor imperfections.
Slightly Played:
Cards in Slightly Played (SP) condition may have minor border or corner wear or even just slight scuffs or scratches. There are no major defects such as liquid damage, bends or issues with the structural integrity of the card. Noticeable imperfections are okay, but none should be too severe or at too high a volume.
Moderately Played:
Cards in Moderately Played (MP) condition can have border wear, corner wear, scratching or scuffing, creases or whitening or any combination of mild examples of these marks.
A Moderately Played card may have some form of a more major marking, such as creasing that doesnʼt affect card integrity, but not in combination with other issues such as scratches, scuffs or border/edge wear and not impacting a large area of the card.
Heavily Played:
Cards in Heavily Played (HP) condition show a severe amount of wear. Cards with less than 30% of the surface being liquid damaged are typically accepted but may be considered Damaged if especially detrimental. HP cards can have one small instance of missing ink (such as if something is stuck to a card, then removed and pulls away part of the card), along with major creasing, whitening and border wear if the card can still be sleeve playable.
Damaged:
Cards in Damaged condition can exhibit a tear, bend or crease that may make the card illegal for tournament play, even in a sleeve. If more than 30% of the card is damaged by liquid, it's considered Damaged. Cards in Damaged condition may have extreme border wear, extreme corner wear, heavy scratching or scuffing, folds, creases or tears or other damages that impacts the structural integrity of the card. (Note: No one likes to receive a card that is covered in a foreign substance, such as food, liquid or other material.)
